Road Safety Incident Investigation Camera (ROSIICAM)

‍‍Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), used NearMiss for the Road Safety Incident Investigation Camera (ROSIICAM) program to improve road safety outcomes. Central to the program was RTT’s innovative NearMiss technology, which employs artificial intelligence to automatically detect near-misses or crashes and record short video clips of these events for detailed analysis.

The recorded footage provided road safety analysts with an in-depth understanding of the frequency and nature of incidents at specific sites. These insights are instrumental in identifying hazards and implementing targeted safety improvements. To uphold privacy standards, the system is designed to automatically blur faces and vehicle registration plates, ensuring the anonymity of all road users.
